UIDAI Extends Free Aadhaar Update Deadline Till September 14, 2024

UIDAI – Unique Identification Authority of India has announced an extension for the free update of Aadhaar details, with the new deadline set for September 14, 2024.With fines for revisions made after the deadline, this extension gives residents valuable more time to make sure their Aadhaar information is current. Updates made at Aadhaar centers will cost ₹50 after the deadline, however updates made through the myAadhaar portal are free of charge. Fee For Aadhaar Card Update

Up till September 14, 2024, there is no cost to change your Aadhaar card online using the myAadhaar portal of UIDAI. If you use this update feature offline at a real Aadhaar center, it is not free. At Aadhaar centers, updating your documentation for your Aadhaar card will cost you Rs. 50.You would need to pay a cost of Rs. 25 after September 14, 2024, in order to update your Aadhaar card documents online through the myAadhaar portal.

Documents Required To Update Aadhaar Card

  • Passport
  • Driver’s license
  • PAN card
  • Voter ID
  • Government-issued ID cards, such as domicile certificates, resident certificates, labour cards, Jan-Aadhaar
  • Marksheet
  • Marriage certificate
  • Ration card

2. Proof of Address document, any one of the following

  • Bank statements not older than 3 months
  • Electricity or gas connection bills not older than 3 months
  • Passport
  • Marriage certificate
  • Ration card
  • Property tax receipts not older than a year
  • Government-issued ID card, such as domicile certificates, resident certificates, labour cards, Jan-Aadhaar

Different Types Of Aadhaar Updates bu UIDAI

  1. Biometric Update
    • For Children (Aged 5-7 and 15-17 Years): Free if done within the specified age brackets.
    • Otherwise: ₹100 fee for any other biometric updates.

    • If Done with Biometric Update: Free.
    • If Done Separately: ₹50 fee.

    3. Document Update

    • Online (Till September 14, 2024): Free.

    What Happens If We Don’t Update The Aadhaar Before The Last Date?
