Vivo is about to release the X Fold 3, a new foldable phone that runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. With its slimmer profile and lowest weight in the industry, the phone is anticipated to make its debut in the Chinese market shortly.Vivo’s next foldable phone launch promises to be an interesting step for the foldable smartphone market.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen-equipped Vivo Fold 3 is anticipated to release in China shortly. A prominent Chinese website called Digital Chat Station has leaked the X Fold 3’s specifications and a preview of the design. Notably, Vivo earlier introduced the Vivo Fold X and the Vivo Fold X2 as foldable smartphones in China, but none of the phones were successful.
The information that was leaked indicates that the X Fold 3’s camera design has undergone some modifications. The flash has been shifted to the right, and the camera deco now has ZEISS branding within of it. The phone will reportedly have a smaller profile and be the lightest folding phone available.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, an improvement over the X Fold2’s processor, is anticipated to power the X Fold3. It will have a new 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera in addition to the same 50MP rear camera. The phone will also make use of Vivo’s V3 proprietary imaging chip, which will allow for 4K 60 frames per second video recording and imaging capabilities comparable to those of Vivo’s X100 series. This will make the phone a formidable competitor in the foldable phone camera market. It makes sense to anticipate the X Fold 3 to release at approximately the same time as Vivo’s folding phone, which debuted in April of last year.
